The Thrive Innovation Center, a Louisville, Ky.-based nonprofit organization that has as its mission transforming the quality of life and care for seniors through innovation and education, celebrated its grand opening on October 19. CDW Healthcare is the official technology sponsor of the new center, orchestrating IT solutions and services to create a robust and highly secure IT infrastructure that will support the organization’s charitable mission.

As the official technology sponsor of the Thrive Innovation Center, CDW Healthcare collaborated with technology providers and partners Samsung; Intel; Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company; Lenovo; Ergotron; and Humanscale in building out and equipping the center. CDW Healthcare also worked with the Thrive Center to identify additional sponsors who donated time, expertise and technology, including a wearables station and transformative therapeutic solutions.

“CDW Healthcare shares Thrive’s mission of transforming quality of life and quality of care through education and cutting-edge technologies,” said Bob Rossi, vice president, CDW Healthcare. “The Thrive Center will provide a one-of-a-kind environment for consumers, providers, government organizations and technology companies to work together to power better care through innovation and collaboration. We are pleased to support this important mission.”

CDW Healthcare’s work with the Thrive Innovation Center extends and elevates the company’s commitment and presence in the post-acute senior care space. Thanks to its work with CDW Healthcare, the Thrive Innovation Center will act as a platform to interact with leading technologies from best-in-class solutions for the benefit of our aging population.

Located in the world’s largest hub for aging care, the Thrive Center’s mission is to expand the possibilities for technology to transform senior living. Thrive demonstrates the power of collaboration between citizens, entrepreneurs, businesses and government to drive innovation and education. The center was made possible through substantial grants and support from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Louisville Metro, key healthcare supporters and technology providers.

The Thrive Innovation Center is a thematic experience center where individuals can engage in programming and interact with innovative technology solutions and products. With an estimated 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease and that number expected to nearly triple by 2050 to 14 million, the Thrive Center has chosen memory care (dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive fitness) as its first focus area. Technology entrepreneurs and innovators have created programs and interactive experiences around the memory care theme.
