CDW Tech Fore! Vets: PGA Tour Players support Operation Homefront.

In honor of National Military Appreciation Month, CDW hosted a Tech Fore! Vets event on May 16 in Dallas, Texas, where CDW, its partners Intel and Lenovo, and PGA TOUR players teamed up for some friendly competition to support our service men and women.

The event benefited Operation Homefront, a charity that offers support and emergency services to military members and their families.

A “glass breaking” competition between PGA TOUR pros capped off the larger donation that includes tablets and desktops to support Operation Homefront’s nationwide technology standardization project. CDW also donated technology to support local Dallas back-to-school events for military families.

PGA TOUR players Ben Crane, Smylie Kaufman, Ryan Palmer and CDW-sponsored Gary Woodland took to the range at Stonebriar Country Club to participate in the challenge. And more was at stake than just bragging rights – winner Gary Woodland presented an additional donation of 10 Lenovo Chromebooks – five to Operation Homefront and five to the charity of Woodland’s choice.

Since 2006, CDW has provided support for Operation Homefront through fundraising initiatives and by contributing technology to the organization, enabling the nonprofit’s employees to better serve our men, women and families of the armed forces.

CDW is proud to be a leading employer of veterans and to support our nation’s service men and women through programs year-round. The company recently ranked No. 13 on Military Times’ annual “Best for Vets: Employers” list. Throughout the month of May, CDW coworkers are raising money for the PGA TOUR’s Birdies for the Brave and preparing care packages through YouGiveGoods.
